The desert speaks in the wind and the tiny movements. All seems quiet and calm and then the ravens “groak – groak” and stir the stillness. Mice and desert rats move from shadow to shadow and the lizards chase flies and beetles under the blazing sun.
The desert speaks in the red rocks, crushed stone and shallow roots that drink the dew and siphon the rain. Drawn into the spinney shapes of cactus, triggering blooms, fruits and seeds.

The desert has it’s wisdom for being flexible in the diversity of extremes. We could use some of that now as the world move to a warmer and warmer climate.
